Marni D. Munsterman

Founder, Principal Lawyer

 

With over 25 years of dedicated practice, Marni is a seasoned criminal defence lawyer focusing on representing clients with mental health challenges.

 

She practices Criminal Law and provides representation at the Ontario Review Board and Consent and Capacity Board.

 

Marni's extensive experience allows her to navigate the complexities of the legal system while advocating for individuals who need understanding and informed representation.

 

Marni is committed to protecting the rights of her clients and ensuring they receive fair treatment, both in and out of the courtroom.

 

By combining legal expertise with compassion, Marni helps clients to achieve the best possible outcomes for their cases, no matter how challenging the circumstances may be.

Education

Marni graduated Cum Laude from the University of Ottawa with an Honours in Criminology and Concentration in Psychology. 

She obtained her law degree from the University of Ottawa in 1998 and was called to the bar in 2000.

History

- Part time lecturer for the University of Ottawa Criminology Department (2000-2008)

- Part -time contract with the Renfrew County Legal Clinic as the Sexual Harassment in the Workplace Lawyer (2019-2024) where she provided summary legal advice and public legal education, often speaking at various high schools throughout Renfrew County

Education

Kiana completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Windsor, majoring in Criminology, and minoring in Psychology.

She then pursued post-graduate education at Algonquin College where she received her Paralegal certificate, becoming licensed with the Law Society of Ontario shortly thereafter.
